Building Sober Community: Inside the Keller Williams Sobriety Program | Adam Pope | Potentialize (E9)

In a substance-heavy industry like real estate it is no easy feat to get or remain sober. There’s so many environmental factors that contend with sobriety, it begs the question…should corporations support sobriety, do they have an obligation or responsibility to do so? Could you make a “business case” for it? How do you even begin to build a Sober Community?

Well, Keller Williams the largest real estate franchise in the US and Global Real Estate powerhouse has done just that. Through their KW CLarity program they specifically support the needs of the sober / clean real estate community.

Today, we have Adam Pope real estate agent and KW Clarity Canada representative, who shares his journey to sobriety. From what he refers to as bottom of the barrel addict to thriving realtor and sobriety advocate he shares what it took to get there, relapses and countless visits to rehab... It was all part of the process…

We also touchbase with Shelly Siderman who leads the KW Clarity program in the US, getting sober herself she realized the need for a community to support people like her… those in recovery or dealing with addiction or substance use, and their families and loved ones. In KW Clarity, Shelly set out to create the company’s first recovery-centered real estate community, providing agents with a place to turn for support in having a sober life and career in real estate.
